The Whalecoast Fishing Trail is situated all along the last vestiges of the Indian Ocean along South Africa’s coast. It includes numerous rivers and secluded bay’s and is arguably the finest fishing area in South Africa. It includes the St. Sebastian Bay and Breede River, this area (St. Sebastian Bay, Breede River) offers the fisherman unique fishing opportunities which include deep sea fishing, fishing in the bay, rock and surf angling, river fishing, fly fishing and finally bass fishing where the river is fresh about 35 km from Witsand. Local fishing charters are available from all coastal towns in the Whalecoast region. All equipment is also available to rent so to guides to all fishing spots. The rivers of the region are peaceful and offer unique bird and wildlife.
