The Cape floral kingdom, geographically the smallest flower kingdom in the world, contains the largest floral variety in the world. The Whalecoast Flower Trail is absolutely centrally situated in the Cape floral kingdom, offering arguable the finest variety of floral plants on the planet! It must be noted that numerous of these flower species are best viewed on foot on numerous hiking trails in the region or at strategic locations (see below). The Flower Trail may be visited in its entirety or at strategic locations, for example Pauline Bohnen Nature Reserve in Stilbaai, Grootvadersbosch Nature Reserve, De Hoop Nature Reserve, Rein's Nature Reserve, the road between Puntjie / Vermaaklikheid to Jongensfontein, Tradouw's PassGysmanshoek Pass and Snelsetter Flower Trail.
